Research shows when teachers form positive bonds with students, classrooms become supportive spaces in which students can engage in academically and socially productive ways. Positive teacher-student relationships are classified as having the presence of closeness, warmth, and positivity. Students who have positive relationships with their teachers use them as a secure base from which they can explore the classroom and school setting both academically and socially, to take on academic challenges and work on social-emotional development.
That is why CF Fitness truly believes in bridging the gap between students and teachers through fun fitness activities. When students see you entertaining their world those walls of not being able to relate come down. Teachers that have committed to joining CF Fitness weekly games and activities have notice their classroom setting have become much easier and peaceful. So CF Fitness recommends teachers to lace up your shoes and embrace getting sweaty with the students it will surely pay off
FUN FITNESS Day Fundraiser
May 16, 2018
Every spring, CF Fitness school sites mark their calendar down for a day of sack races
and relays, balloon tosses, fun fitness activities and outdoor fun. This day is also used
as a fundraiser to earn money to fund CF Fitness. School Sites to date have said this
Fund Raisers bring in the most money of the entire fundraisers on campus.
The events -- often called Fun Fitness Day -- are usually in early April as the culmination
of a year of skill-building during their structured recess time.
"Their physical development really shows," said Principal Taylor. "Each grade level
participates in different events, and the students in each grade look forward to the next."
On a comfortable, sunny day this month, fourth-graders cheered for kindergartners who
were participating in their first Fun Fitness Day.
"I think that it helps them along because they know we're rooting for them, and they'll try
extra hard," David Gilbert, 9, said. "I like the way people are making teamwork and effort
and making fun out of the game."
Carol Rodriguez, 10, agreed. "It's fun, and it helps you with exercise," he said.
The kindergarten students raced to gather the most balls for their own team, hurled a
ball for distance and ran a race while carefully balancing a golf ball in a spoon.
Parents turned out to watch and to help assist during the day.
At many schools, the competitive nature of the events is played down, and the
emphasis is on teamwork instead of individual scoring.
"The children have so much competition in sports teams," said CEO James Howell.
"School doesn't need to be a place of competition."
At CF Fitness School Site on Fun Fitness Day, students are encouraged to "try hard and
have fun.
This year, its 16 events were based on Olympic countries them .
Teachers participated in several events.
Students raced around the bases in a relay to bring cookies to a crab and participated in
activities related to the story of "The Lion King" and the Three Little Bears
"We find that this makes it more interesting to the children and less of a competitive
event," said Coach Tina from Warren Lane.
"We want to stress participation, fitness and lots of skills. Everybody gets water and fruit
after activities wrap up."
Game of the Month
March 6, 2018
In this teamwork building game, there are 5 groups (can be of any number: 3, 4, 5…). Four of the groups will start at each corner of the cones that make up a large square in the playing area. 1 team starts at the cone in the middle of the square. Students of each group must hold hands at all times, and not break the link.
On the “GO” signal, the groups in the corners must leave their corner and try to get to a different corner cone (can’t go diagonally through the middle area). The
team in the middle will also try to get to a corner spot/cone before a different group. In the end, 1 team will be left without a corner spot (since there are only 4 corners, and 5 teams). That remaining team goes to the middle. Now again the coach will yell “GO” and the whole process repeats. The team who doesn’t make it to a corner of course goes to the middle. Etc, etc, etc. Remember that students in the groups must hold hands through the process.

CF Fitness 21 century curriculum is something special. CF Fitness takes structured play and P.E. curriculum lesson plans to a whole new level with 21 century graphic designer Evan Weatherspoon. This youngman is the brains behind CF Fitness website, brochures and all things dealing with bringing that Walt Disney intangible experience to life. CF Fitness realized that teachers have very little time to do P.E. lesson plans and meet their requirements.
So CEO and Founder James Howell ask Siobahn Counts with a Teaching history to develop lesson plans behind his innovative games and Magic as you know it was created. CF Fitness servicing schools teachers are thrilled to have this curriculum because their now able to really accomplished their require physical fitness hours and not even have to blink. This has given the CF Fitness School sites more time to focus on the most important time of the year test time.
Alternatives to Withholding Recess
January 19, 2018
Often the students who would most benefit from physical activity are those who get the least opportunity during the school day. At schools where recess is withheld as a punishment, it is usually a student who has difficulty following directions, staying on task, or interacting appropriately with peers and staff who has recess restricted. These problems behaviors are typically not related to recess, yet recess is withheld.
The practice of withholding recess as punishment can be ineffective for many reasons. Research has shown that punishment is not effective in teaching new skills. To change a problem behavior, a replacement behavior must be taught in its place. Students must be taught what to do differently. If no replacement skills are taught, students will continue their current behavior resulting in the same problems. In addition to teaching student placement behaviors and the skills to respond differently in the challenging situation, classroom management practices should employ effective consequences. Effective consequences are immediate and relate to the problem behavior. Withholding recess is not an effective consequence. It typically is not immediate and it does not relate to the problem behavior. 60 Alternatives to Withholding Recess provides a variety of strategies to use instead.
